Photographing a family with a new puppy is always a lot of fun! Recently, I met up with Kristin and AJ at Islip Grange in Sayville to capture some moments with their adorable new pup, Maverick. The historic charm of the Grange made for the perfect backdrop, and Maverick’s playful energy brought the session to life. From running around to sneaking in some snuggles, it was a relaxed, fun afternoon with lots of laughs and genuine moments as this little family settled into life with their new furry friend.
We started near the rustic barns and historic buildings that dot the landscape of Islip Grange. These spots provided a nice contrast between the timeless architecture and the fresh vibrancy of a new puppy.
If you’re thinking of doing a session with your pet, I’d say go for it—puppies grow up fast, and it’s worth capturing these moments when they’re still small (and extra wild!).
