Trendy themes can be a great starting point for any bridal shower, but what really makes an event memorable is how personal it feels. I recently photographed a stunning bridal shower at the Allegria Hotel in Long Beach, and it was the perfect example of how a bride can take a popular concept and turn it into something uniquely hers.
Ashu chose the “On Cloud 9” theme — a dreamy, light, and airy vibe that’s been making the rounds lately. But with the creative touch of Hasina Ahmed, the woman behind Pyaar Events Co, this shower felt completely custom. From the moment you walked into the rooftop space overlooking the ocean, you could tell this wasn’t your average Pinterest copy-and-paste.
“‘On Cloud Nine’ is a bridal shower favorite—and for good reason,” Ahmed said. “It’s soft, romantic, dreamy… and full of potential. But just because it’s a popular theme doesn’t mean it has to feel predictable. When our client came to us she knew what she wanted but wanted it to feel original.”
The floral design was a showstopper — white hydrangeas, roses, and baby’s breath cascaded across the space, especially around the custom “She’s on Cloud 9” photo moment. The fullness of the florals created a lush, cloud-like effect that played beautifully with the soft lighting and minimalist furniture.
Texture was a huge part of the visual story here. From the plush bench surrounded by florals to the feathery detailing around the dessert table, every element felt soft and ethereal. One of my favorite design touches was the white draping added to the dessert table setup — simple but on-trend, and a great way to add elegance without overdoing it.
