The night before the wedding is often just as memorable as the day itself—especially when it’s done right. Kristen and Matt kicked off their wedding weekend with a casual, cocktail-hour-style gathering at Myles on Main in Riverhead. The vibe? Relaxed, warm, and full of genuine connection.

Guests mingled over cocktails and small bites all night long, with no formal sit-down dinner—just great conversation, steady drinks, and an energy that kept flowing. The bar staff at Myles on Main truly delivered, keeping everyone well taken care of and the mood celebratory from start to finish.
A few heartfelt toasts brought everyone together mid-evening—sweet words from the Maid of Honor and Best Man that had the whole room laughing (and tearing up a little, too). What made this night even more special was the presence of childhood friends who showed up for both the bride and groom. It was the kind of evening that reminded everyone why they were there—to celebrate not just a couple, but a lifetime of friendships and shared history.

As a photographer, I love capturing these pre-wedding events just as much as the wedding day itself. They’re real, unscripted, and full of the kind of moments that deserve to be remembered. Whether you’re planning a welcome dinner, cocktail party, or rehearsal gathering, documenting it all helps tell the full story of your wedding weekend.

If you’re hosting a celebration like this on Long Island, I’d love to capture it. You can view more of my work and get in touch to start planning coverage for your event.
