Makayla’s Maternity Session at Peconic River Herb Farm

I’ve been looking forward to Makayla’s maternity session at Peconic River Herb Farm since she first reached out. Nestled along the river, the farm is one of those hidden Long Island gems — full of winding garden paths, lush greenery, and whimsical spots that feel like they’re made for photography. It’s the kind of place that makes every photo feel soft, dreamy, and timeless.

Surrounded by the herb farm’s gardens, she glowed in every frame. She and her husband Keith wandered through the greenhouses and along the river, capturing natural portraits that celebrated both her joy and the quiet anticipation of parenthood.

A question I get a lot is “When’s the best time to schedule a maternity shoot?” The sweet spot is usually between 28–36 weeks. By then, your bump is pronounced, but you’re still comfortable enough to move around and enjoy taking photos. Makayla planned hers perfectly, which let us focus on creating a relaxed session.

If you’re expecting and thinking about maternity photos, I’d love to help you plan a session that feels natural, personal, and true to you.
