Featuring Amy & Dom’s playful evening at Robert Moses, Field 5
Amy and Dom showed up for their beach engagement session well-prepared from the start. A quick peek into their bag and I could already tell we were going to have fun. They’d packed a few little extras that felt so them, and it instantly set the vibe for the evening. Nothing over the top, just thoughtful touches that made the whole shoot feel relaxed, personal, and easy—exactly the way an engagement session should be.

We met at Field 5 at Robert Moses, a favorite spot of mine for the wide-open views and golden light. Their easygoing energy, combined with a few well-packed items, made the evening feel effortless.
If you’re planning a beach session of your own, here are a few things worth tossing in your tote:
A few must-haves:
– A beach tote – Something comfortable to carry during the walk from the parking lot. (Field 5 isn’t far, but it’s enough of a stroll that you’ll want your hands free.)
– A neutral blanket – For sitting shots or snuggling close by the water. Sand Cloud makes beautiful, lightweight options that photograph well and shake off easily.
– A claw clip or hair tie – If it’s breezy (which it usually is), something that goes with your outfit will help tame the wind while still looking cute.
– Bug spray – Trust me on this one. Especially in the dunes or grassy paths, a quick spritz before we walk out makes all the difference.

And the fun extras:
– Sunglasses – Amy and Dom brought a couple of fun pairs for a few playful portraits, and I loved the personality they added.
– Champagne + flutes – Popping a bottle by the shore is always a fun idea if you’re up for it. These two had a mini toast as the sun went down, which felt like such a celebration.

These little touches help keep the session lighthearted and true to you—while giving us a few extras to play with along the way.
